Making a page available

Some pages in your website are not yet available. They are grayed out in the File Manager and you cannot edit them.

To make them available and start editing:
  • Click on the More Actions link next to the page that you wish to make available.
  • From the menu, select Make Page Available.

  • You will get a dialogue box asking you which shared regions and templates you wish to be overwritten by the content of the corresponding shared regions and template in this page. Check the ones you wish to overwrite and click on Yes.
  • If you wish to start editing the page, click on the Edit link next to the page.

Check in and check out concept

To ensure security and to avoid having two people work on the same page simultaneously, Simplify decided on the following system.
  • When a user wishes to edit or setup a certain page, he/she has to check it out of the system.
  • Once a page is checked out, no other user can access it.
  • To make a page available to other users, the person who checked out a page should check it back in.
  • To check the page in or out, click on More Actions link in the File Manager tab next to the page. From the menu, select either Check in or Check out. See the image below.

  • If a page is checked out and is needed by another user, that user can request its release.
  • However, if the page is checked out by another user and you are an admin in your website, you can force check it in.
  • To force check in the page, click on the More Actions link in the File Manager tab next to the page that has been checked out. a dialogue box will appear. From the menu, select Forced Check In.

Request release

If a page has been checked out by another user beside yourself and you need to access it, you can request its release. The request release is a message that will be sent to the user that has the page checked out. It will inform the user that you need the page by an email.
  • Click on More Actions link in the File Manager tab next to the page that is checked out. From the menu, select Request Release.
  • A request release message will be delivered to the email of the other user.
